Green Rinjani Tour & Travel is a locally owned and operated adventure and tour company based in Lombok, Indonesia Established in 2011, we began as a Mount Rinjani trekking specialist. Over time, we grew into a trusted local tour organizer, delivering well-managed, responsible, and authentic travel experiences across Lombok and selected destinations in Indonesia.

Today, Green Rinjani directly operates Lombok tours, island-wide private transportation services, and Lombok–Gili speed boat transfers through our in-house local team. By managing these services ourselves, we maintain consistent service quality, clear communication, and strong safety standards for every guest.

Meanwhile, for destinations beyond Lombok, Green Rinjani organizes Komodo Island boat trips and Mount Kerinci expeditions in close partnership with trusted local teams. Together, we share the same commitment to professionalism, safety, and responsible tourism.

Across all destinations, Green Rinjani plans, coordinates, and supervises every journey carefully. As a result, our guests enjoy authentic experiences, reliable logistics, and meaningful connections with local communities and natural environments.

Our Story: A Local Dream from Senaru Village

Green Rinjani was founded in 2011 by Karyadi — known by everyone as Ary — a passionate mountain guide born and raised in Senaru Village, located at the northern foothills of Mount Rinjani.

Before establishing Green Rinjani, Ary spent many years working as a porter and trekking guide for other operators. During this time, he developed a deep understanding of Mount Rinjani. More importantly, he learned the value of responsible trekking, fair treatment of local workers, and proper mountain management.

With limited equipment, a few tents, and strong determination, Ary launched Green Rinjani Tour & Travel with a simple goal: to build a local company that protects nature, supports the community, and offers travelers more than just a physical climb

Standing Strong Through Every Challenge

2018 – North Lombok Earthquake

In 2018, a powerful earthquake struck North Lombok and caused widespread damage across the region. Our office and guest accommodation in Senaru Village suffered damage, while authorities officially closed all Mount Rinjani trekking routes for several months to assess safety and repair the trails.

During this period, we welcomed no guests and operated no treks. Nevertheless, Green Rinjani chose to focus on recovery. We repaired facilities, supported our team, and patiently waited for official permission to resume activities.

2019–2021 – The COVID-19 Pandemic

As Lombok slowly recovered, the world faced another major challenge. Between 2019 and 2021, the COVID-19 pandemic brought global tourism almost to a complete stop.

However, unlike many destinations, Mount Rinjani remained one of the few nature-based areas in Indonesia that did not close entirely for extended periods. Whenever regulations allowed, Green Rinjani continued operating with strict safety protocols.

During this time, we were fortunate to welcome a small but loyal group of guests who continued to trust us despite uncertainty. For this continued trust, we remain deeply grateful.

From Recovery to Growth: Green Rinjani Today

Recovery did not happen overnight.

From 2020 to 2022, Green Rinjani rebuilt step by step. We gradually restored facilities, strengthened safety standards, and continued professional training for our team. Throughout this process, long-term sustainability and guest comfort remained our top priorities.

Today, Green Rinjani stands fully recovered and stronger than ever.

We have rebuilt and reorganized our office and accommodation facilities in Senaru Village to provide better comfort, privacy, and operational efficiency. By separating office operations from guest accommodation, we now offer a calmer, more organized experience for trekkers before and after their climb.

Facilities & Operational Readiness

To maintain full operational control and consistent service quality, Green Rinjani manages its core facilities independently.

We operate our own logistics minimart, which ensures constant availability of trekking supplies, food ingredients, and expedition necessities. In addition, guests can purchase personal essentials directly on-site, adding convenience and peace of mind before starting their trek.

Furthermore, Green Rinjani maintains a dedicated mountain equipment room. Here, our team systematically stores, inspects, and maintains all trekking gear. As a result, every item used on the mountain remains safe, clean, and suitable for guest use.

To guarantee consistent quality and accountability, we do not rely on third-party rental equipment or external transport providers. Instead, Green Rinjani owns and operates all trekking equipment and transportation services directly.
