Mount Rinjani Summit Trek
About the 2D1N Mount Rinjani Summit Trek
- DURATION: 2 Days 1 Night
- LEVEL: Challenging
The 2 Days 1 Night Mount Rinjani Summit Trek follows a return route from Sembalun Village to Sembalun Crater Rim and the 3,726-metre summit before descending through the same trail.
The first day normally requires six to seven hours of trekking through open grassland and increasingly steep mountain terrain. After camping at Sembalun Crater Rim, the summit attempt usually begins between 2:00 and 2:30 AM.
The final ascent is the most demanding section because of the steep slope, loose volcanic gravel, cold temperatures and limited rest. Good physical preparation, suitable trekking shoes and warm clothing are essential.
This program is recommended for travelers whose main goal is reaching the summit within a short itinerary. It does not descend to Segara Anak Lake or visit the natural hot springs. Travelers who want to combine the summit, lake and hot springs should choose a complete Mount Rinjani trekking program lasting three days or longer.
